The agents of Mousa Dembele are in Italy as they try to find the midfield star a new deal, according to a reliable journalist.
Kristof Terreur, a prominent Belgian journalist, has said that his agents’ first stop is at Roma, then Napoli, and he followed up with another tweet that said their third stop would be Milan.
Dembele’s contract expires in 2019 and despite having a brilliant season with Tottenham, Terreur has reported that he wants to leave.
Quizzed as to why, Terreur said it was a combination of three things – the physical demands of the Premier League, interest in him from big clubs after his display v Juventus in the Champions League, and the draw of one last big contract.
He fears that his body can’t cope with another season in the PL. Plus interest from other teams after his performances against Juve. Plus last big contract at the age of 31.

Football Insider verdict:
Tottenham fans will be gutted to see Dembele go but will wish him all the best at his new club. Dembele suffered this year with various injuries and Mauricio Pochettino said that he would need to be wrapped up in cotton wool to get him to the end of the season. They just about managed that but it seems clear that at 31-years-old, he doesn’t think his body can take another year in the Premier League. Dembele is a physical player, always has been, and he wouldn’t be the same if he tried to stay in the English top-flight. A move to Italy seems like his favoured option, although there has been talk of a move to China too, which would no doubt give him the last big lucrative contract that he deserves. He will be a loss to Tottenham, but they’ve got the money and the lure to attract a top replacement for him this summer.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Levy is plotting a £15million swoop for a Championship playmaker.
