Midfielder Conor Hourihane is set to complete an Aston Villa medical and seal a move to the club, according to a report.
The Mail claim the Barnsley ace, 25, was scheduled to arrive at Villa’s headquarters on Thursday to put the finishing touches to a pan-Championship transfer.
It is said that the two clubs have reached agreement on the fee for Hourihane after Villa beat off competition for hi signature from Sheffield Wednesday.
Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury is set to follow Hourihane in joining Steve Bruce’s side in a deal worth £3million.
The BBC’s Midlands correspondent Pat Murphy reported on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that Lansbury to Villa was all but “done”.

The acquisition of the two creative midfielders will immediately add firepower to a team that has flopped in front of goal for most of the season.
Villa have scored just 26 goals from 26 Championship matches, nearly half of the division’s top scorers Newcastle, who have netted 50 times.
Hourihane has been an integral player for 10th-placed Barnsley, scoring five goals and providing 13 assists in 27 matches.
Football Insider verdict:
What a signing for Aston Villa, just days after it looked like they may lost out on Hourihane to Sheffield Wednesday. However, the allure of the Midlands giants and manager Bruce appear to have done the trick for the Championship assist machine. He has made the step up from League One to the second tier impressively this season, with his haul of 13 assists comfortably the best in the division and enough even to make Mesut Ozil envious. With his contract due to expire in the summer, he also has the benefit of being a bargain price. This is a great deal for Villa.
