Liverpool need to add depth to their squad as they prepare for a gruelling Champions League campaign, according to a reliable journalist.
James Pearce detailed in his end-of-season column in the Liverpool Echo the five areas in which the club needs to address in the summer as their fixture list will pile up for next season.
The report details how the Reds need a left-back, a dominant centre-back, a dynamic midfielder, another winger and a prolific striker in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side secured their place in the top four when they beat already-relegated Middlesbrough on the last day of the season.
They will still have to qualify for the group stages of Europe’s biggest club competition by winning a two-legged qualifier at the start of the next campaign.

It is said that with Liverpool now back amongst Europe’s elite, they will have the pulling power to sign the top players the supporters are craving.
The standout signing for Klopp last summer was the big-money purchase of winger Sadio Mane from Southampton.
The 25-year-old suffered a season-ending injury at the start of April but he was a real asset to the side during his time on the field.
He played 27 Premier League matches for his side, scoring 13 goals added with his six assists as he also helped them to the semi-final stages of the EFL Cup.
In other Liverpool transfer news, the club has received a massive boost as this targeted winger has told his club he wants to leave.
