Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has met Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir according to a reliable journalist, who has also said that the player will sign in the summer unless extenuating circumstances get in the way.
Romain Collet-Gaudin, who works for Canal+, made the claim on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday morning.
He claims that talks between Fekir and Klopp went well and that the attacker will sign for £61.5million but for any unforeseen circumstances.
He adds that Chelsea were also interested but were not successful.
The tweet translates: “met , very good contacts between them. Faulkner will sign at 70m € unless unforeseen. also tried his luck, without success.”

Football Insider verdict:
Klopp is linked with Europe’s best attackers on a daily basis but this one looks to have something behind it. Collet-Gaudin is a solid journalist who knows his stuff in France and if he claims the deal is all but done, then Liverpool fans can start to get excited. The midfielder, who has also been deployed as a secondary striker this season, has scored an impressive 22 goals in 38 games and the 24-year-old has also won 10 caps for France. It’s been a standout season for the player who only scored nine goals in 32 games in Ligue 1 last season. He would definitely fit in with the Klopp team and philosophy and with the transfer window opening imminently, this is one bit of business that Liverpool could get sewn up quickly. By the sounds of it, Chelsea also tried to land him but Klopp’s personal intervention looks like it has got the job done. It just highlights again how important Klopp is to the club.
In other Liverpool news, Spurs must swoop and break hearts at Anfield for a former Reds hero.
