Reliable journalist: Leeds take on defender from third-placed side ahead of prospective transfer
Leeds United have taken Fulham defender Dan Martin on trial ahead of a prospective transfer with the 18-year-old featuring for the under-23 side on Monday, according to a reliable journalist.
The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Hay, one of the most revered reporters covering the Whites, stated on his personal Twitter account that the unfamiliar name among the starting XI for the clash against Millwall, as revealed on the club’s official Twitter account, was the young Cottagers starlet.

The left back, who is yet to make his senior debut for high-flying Fulham, who sit third in the Championship, has been a regular for the London club’s under-18 side, while he has also made two outings for the under-23 team during his time at Craven Cottage.
Football Insider verdict
Leeds appear to have started their summer transfer business early this year, but whether Martin has what it takes to make an immediate impact at Elland Road remains to be seen. It looks as though his future with Fulham is coming to an end and this is the opportunity for the Whites to run the rule over the youngster. To have been handed a start for the under-23s, a level at which he has just two appearances to his name, suggests he may well be viewed as better than the current options at Elland Road, and the 90 minutes against Millwall could be his make or break moment.
In other Leeds United news, the club need to do just one thing to seal a deal for Pablo Hernandez.
