Reliable journalist: Newcastle complete first January signing, two more reportedly to follow
Newcastle have completed the loan signing of Chelsea winger Kenedy after he was spotted in the north east on Monday night, according to a reliable journalist.
Mark Douglas, Newcastle United editor for the Chronicle, posted a simple tweet confirming that the player pictured was indeed Kenedy with a simple message saying “Deal done”.
He posted the tweet on his official Twitter page on Monday night.

When the deal is confirmed it will be Newcastle’s first arrival in a January window that hasn’t exactly gone according to plan for fans.
However, a report in the Chronicle claims that there could be another two new arrivals before the January window shuts, with Rafa Benitez pushing for a goalkeeper and a striker.
Football Insider verdict:
This deal would be a big relief for Newcastle fans who just need to see someone come through the door at the moment. However, Kenedy won’t be enough on his own and Newcastle fans will be even more relieved at the news that Benitez is still pushing for a striker. They’ll be even more excited at the reports that have come out linking Newcastle with Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro. He could be the difference and could link up brilliantly with Kenedy to finally give Newcastle a direct threat going forward. That could be the difference between Premier League safety and a long drawn out relegation battle.
