The transfer window is proving to be a busy one for Rangers manager Graeme Murty as yet another deal looks set to be concluded, according to a reliable journalist. Bruce Archer, online sports editor of the Daily Express, has reported that Norwich's Russell Martin is set to undergo a medical in Glasgow tomorrow ahead of his proposed loan move. Murty has already brought in three players this window – Declan John, Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy – and Jason Cummins arrived in Glasgow today to conclude his move. If that goes through as planned then Martin would be the fifth new recruit for Rangers. Archer reported the news on his Twitter page on Sunday evening.

Martin is making the move from Championship club Norwich where he's spent the last seven years after moving from Peterborough. He played a full season in the Championship last season but has struggled for game time this season, making just seven appearances, five in the league.

Football Insider verdict:

Martin might not be exciting Rangers fans as much as some of the other arrivals, but he comes with vast Championship experience in England and will bring a lot to Murty's side. The loan move suits both parties and gives Murty a chance to assess his impact in the second half of the season. With a medical expected tomorrow, if all goes well, he could be announced in the next 24 hours.
