Liverpool midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza is on course to return in pre-season as he steps up his recovery from shoulder surgery, according to a reliable journalist.
Goal’s Merseyside correspondent Neil Jones reported on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that the Brazilian, 21, was at the club’s Melwood headquarters today for checks with the medical staff.
Jones added that Allan is to have his support brace removed this week and is in line to be back in July, when the club start pre-season training.

The Brazilian went under the knife at the start of this month and was forced to cut short his loan spell at Cypriot club Apollon Limassol.
Capped by Brazil at U20 level, Allan joined Liverpool from Internacional in August 2015, but has since spent the past two-and-a-half years out on loan as he does not yet qualify for a work permit.

Football Insider verdict:
Hailed by Jurgen Klopp as an “oh my God outstanding talent” and a “smart player loved by everybody”, it has been an immensely frustrating few years for Allan. His work permit issues mean he has had spells in Finland, Belgium, Germany and now Cyprus during the past three seasons, securing a league winners’ medal in the process. He is the real deal, but can he ever get his chance at Liverpool, where he has blown Klopp away in training? It is difficult for the youngster, who will surely go out on loan again next season when he has had a pre-season under his belt.
