Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is set to arrive in London for talks with Arsenal and Chelsea, according to a report.

Italian publication Il Messaggero claim that Icardi will arrive in London imminently for talks with both clubs, while Napoli have also not given up hope of land the forward.

Spanish newspaper AS claimed at the end of July that the Italian giants had slapped a £43million price tag on Icardi.

The Inter captain bagged 16 goals and four assists in Serie A for the Italian giants in 2015-16, but was left out out of the highly competitive Argentina squad for this summer's Copa America.

Arsene Wenger’s side were dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Icardi after the Argentine striker took to social media to showcase his love for his "home" at San Siro at the start of the month.

The post followed a series of other pictures and Tweets which express his love for Inter Milan, a club which he has been with since 2013, scoring 47 goals for in the process.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on his website that Arsenal had set up a meeting in London last month to discuss Icardi moving to the club.

Gazzetta Dello Sport then claimed last week that the Gunners are to make a last-ditch swoop for the 23-year-old by offering a player-plus-cash deal of £30million plus Olivier Giroud in exchange for the forward.

Wenger has admitted he is in the market for a new striker as well as a new centre-back in the final weeks of the transfer window.
