Report: After fresh Rangers talks PL trio on brink of Ibrox move, more signings on radar
After fresh talks with Rangers, Steven Gerrard is on the brink of accepting the manager job and will bring two senior men with him from Anfield, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claims Gerrard will accept the job at Ibrox and will bring Anfield fitness coach Jordan Milsom and assistant Tom Culshaw with him.
The report also claims that Gerrard has already begun to sound out players that he will try to sign once he’s confirmed as Rangers new manager.
Milson has been at Liverpool since 2010 and is said to have got close to Gerrard during Brendan Rodgers time at the club.
Football Insider verdict:
All the talk that we’re hearing is that Gerrard will accept the job over the weekend, which has led to us wondering how Rangers will deal with the announcement. Let’s not forget there’s an important Old Firm clash on Sunday and then there’s Graeme Murty. Despite fans not wanting him as manager next season, it must not be forgotten that he’s a man who took the Rangers job and gave it is his best. Call him inexperienced, but you can’t question his commitment and loyalty and he deserves to be treated with respect. If Gerrard does confirm over the weekend, the ideal announcement would be straight after a Rangers win against Celtic. That might be asking for too much though. In the meantime, news that Gerrard will be bringing his team with him from Anfield is one that should get Rangers fans very excited. This is starting to look like the dream package.
