Report: Arsenal plot £9m Brazilian double deal after extensive research
Arsenal are lining up a bid for Corinthians' latest wonderkid Maycon, after having scouted the 20-year-old for a number of years, according to a report.
the Brazilian outfit value Maycon at £9million, but would insist that the Brazilian stay at Corinthians on loan in a double deal if anything was agreed. The reports also claims that Gunners' scouts have watched the impressive 20-year-old 'multiple times' as his stock continues to rise. The Italian giants Napoli are also said to be heavily interested in Maycon, as well as a number of Europes top clubs.
Football Insider verdict:
Maycon is relatively unknown, yet he has impressed during the early stages of his career. This seems to be a long-term plan, as Arsenal would be able to allow the young Brazilian time to develop at Corinthians should any deal go through. The 20-year-old has bags of time to continue developing his game, and will not have to adapt to the Premier League at a older age which could help him in the long run. Should Arsenal be able to beat out the likes of Napoli for his signature this could be a great signing for the future.
