Report: Arsene Wenger snubs Jose Mourinho at UEFA conference

By Amir Mir

Arsene Wenger has delivered the latest blow in a long-running spat with Jose Mourinho during a UEFA conference last Thursday, according to a report.

Spanish outlet Marca have reported on the amusing incident which ocurred when the Portuguese manager asked about the availability of a seat next to the Arsenal manager.

The pair were at a conference for Europe’s top coaches in Switzerland during the international break, with former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson also in attendance and waiting to deliver his welcome speech.

It is said Mourinho was one of the last to enter the room, with few empty seats available. When he asked about the availability of a seat Wenger replied, “No, it isn’t possible.”

It is said a few people laughed at Wenger’s comment, while others looked away and pretended they did not hear anything.

Wenger and Mourinho have clashed in recent times, with the former Chelsea boss calling the 66-year-old a “specialist in failure” during his last ill-fated stint at their London rivals.
