Report: Aston Villa set to loan out January signing

By Harry Sykes

Aston Villa are likely to send defender Jacob Bedeau out on loan next season, according to a report.

Somerset Live claim the Midlands giants are expected to sanction a temporary spell at another club for the teenage defender in order for him to gain first-team experience.

It is said that League Two outfit Yeovil could be in the running to take Bedeau, 17, on loan in the 2017-18 campaign.

The Somerset-based club currently have a Premier League-affiliated player in their ranks, Tottenham academy striker Shayon Harrison, who joined on loan in January of this year.

Centre-back Bedeau was signed by Villa in January after they won a competitive race for his signature amid interest from top flight giants Liverpool and Manchester United.

Villa paid Bury £900,000 for Bedeau and he has demonstrated his immense potential with some eyecatching displays in the club’s Under-23s.

The teenager, who made seven senior Bury appearances earlier in the campaign after making his professional debut aged 16, is yet to be handed his senior debut by first-team manager Steve Bruce.

In other Aston Villa news, talks are to get underway as a proven Premier League performer wants to join the Midlands club.
