Report: Bid tabled as Leeds pursue hot shot dazzling league with promotion hunters
Leeds United are among a host of clubs in the hunt for the signing of Blackburn Rovers midfield hot shot Bradley Dack as Cardiff City table a bid for his services, according to a report.
Monday’s print edition of the Sun (22/01, Page 50) claims that the 24-year-old central star has several Championship sides chasing his signature this month after dazzling in League One with the side sitting second in the table.
He has netted an impressive 12 goals in 26 third tier appearances, which has reportedly led to Cardiff offering Rovers £4million for his transfer, but the bid is said to have been rebuffed by the former Premier League champions, who are seeking promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
He signed for Blackburn in a £750,000 deal from Gillingham over the summer and is able to operate both as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger on either flank.
Football Insider verdict
Leeds could do with some additional firepower to help boost their promotion bid but with Rovers looking like they will do anything to keep a hold of their star man, it could be a tough task to price Dack from their grip. Plus, with the currently suspended Samu Saiz having starred in the attacking midfield role this season, would Dack’s arrival threaten to disrupt the balance that Thomas Christiansen has at Elland Road? It is a possibility, but with an 11 goal midfielder, the risk is definitely worth taking. Andrea Radrizzani may have to splash the cash to secure his signing, but if it secures a top six spot and a shot at promotion then it is worth the money.
