Report details major development on Rangers pursuit of £1m duo, one has 14 goals this season
English League One side Wigan are plotting a double raid of Scotland’s top flight for Motherwell’s Louis Moult and Hearts’ Jamie Walker, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claims that Rangers have been in pursuit of the duo, who are believed to be worth £500,000 each.
It is understood that Pedro Caixinha had both Moult, 25, and Walker, 24, on his radar in the summer but now in a major development, it is reported that talks have cooled about signing the £1million duo.
Motherwell striker Moult has hit a stunning run of form this season, scoring 14 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions – including two against Rangers – but is out of contract at the end of the season and is reported to be a certainty to leave Fir Park in the near future.
Hearts winger Walker is also out of contract in the summer and the Scottish Sun claims that he is on the radar of multiple clubs as the January transfer window approaches.

Rangers have seemed to have struggled to get in a new manager over the past six weeks and it may be due to the money it would cost in compensation fees. It is widely reported that Aberdeen will require £800,000 to let Derek McInnes leave Pittodrie so if the Gers are struggling to afford that, then they may not be able to bring in the best players in January. Moult has been in stunning form while Walker is also a proven operator in the Premiership. Both would be top signings for the Light Blues but with Wigan in pursuit, it seems unlikely that they will be able to snap them up any time soon.
