Everton are still looking to make three more transfers in a busy summer for the club, according to a report.
The Guardian have claimed on their website that Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is looking to add to his side further with both Premier League aces Gylfi Sigurdsson and Olivier Giroud named as well as defensive cover for Ramiro Funes Mori after his injury.
Swansea star Sigurdsson’s name is mentioned alone in the report with the Iceland international being a long-term target for the Dutch boss this window.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and France forward Giroud’s name is said to be “in the frame” for the Blues with the signing of Alexandre Lacazette bringing his future at the Emirates Stadium into doubt.
It is also said a sale of attacking star Ross Barkley is not dependent on whether Everton delve further into the transfer market after already bringing in seven players as prepare for a Europa League campaign.
Football Insider verdict:
Everton are truly showing their ambition in this window with the signings of Wayne Rooney, Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane. Another three additions would certainly add further to the feel good factor already installed at the club at this moment in time. The names of Sigurdsson and Giroud would also mark good further additions for the Toffees with the Icelandic star among the best creative players in the English top-flight, while Giroud has shown his ability to score at Arsenal and would be a tad unfortunate to lose his squad place at the Gunners. Both would however command large fees if they were to move and the Toffees could buckle on the pressure of expectation with all the huge fees being thrown about.
