Leeds first teamer wanted by seven PL clubs as favourites plot £15m bid - report
By Derek Smithson
Leeds forward Chris Wood is being monitored by over a third of Premier League clubs, according to a report.
The Sun claim that seven top-flight sides in the shape of Huddersfield, Crystal Palace, Swansea, Stoke, West Ham, West Brom and Southampton are in a battle to sign the Whites first teamer.
It is understood that recently-promoted Huddersfield are the favourites to land the 25-year-old as they look to improve their squad.
The report details that the Terries have identified Wood as a £15million target and are not afraid to splash the cash after earning £200million for their Championship play-off final win against Reading.
Huddersfield boss David Wagner feels that the New Zealand international can be the player to guide them to safety in the Premier League.

Wood enjoyed a brilliant run of form last season at Elland Road and was in prolific goalscoring touch.
The striker scored a phenomenal 30 goals in just 48 appearances across all competitions.
He managed to guide Leeds to seventh in the Championship, but was heavily relied upon as the main source of goals.
Wood has only enjoyed nine appearances in the Premier League during his career with Leicester and West Brom, but a whole host of top-flight clubs now feel he is ready to make the step up.
Football Insider verdict:
Leeds could be tempted to cash in on £15million-rated Wood and that is a huge sum for a player that is not yet proven in the Premier League. However, he showed last year that he can be deadly in the Championship and the Yorkshire club must not sell him in the summer. The financial gain will be far greater if they achieve promotion next season and they will need a consistent goalscorer to do so. Wood scored all manner of goals last year and he should be backed to score 20-plus league goals once again next season. Leeds are still yet to announce a new manager, but whoever he is should look to make Wood the talisman of the side.
In other Leeds transfer news, they are in pole position to sign an African forward.
