Report: Liverpool steal march over rivals for red hot attacking sensation keen on England move
Liverpool have stormed ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea in the transfer hunt for young German sensation Karim Adeyemi this summer, according to a report.
The Daily Mail claim on their website that the Reds are leading the way alongside German rivals RB Leipzig for the 16-year-old’s signature after his red hot form for SpVgg Unterhaching’s under-19 side this season, as well as his displays for Germany’s under-16 team.
The young striker has hit home 15 goals in his 20 appearances for the club’s youth side, which has led to the likes of City, Chelsea and Roma all said to have made moves over a potential swoop.
However it is now claimed that Klopp’s side have stolen a march over their English counterparts, and that Adeyemi himself is keen on moving to England, which could give them an advantage over Leipzig.
Football Insider verdict
Adeyemi is turning out to be one of the hottest prospects in Europe when you look at who is interesting in securing his signature, and it should come as no surprise that Liverpool are among those seeking a deal this summer. Klopp will no doubt have used his contacts in Germany to have got the lowdown on whether the 16-year-old has what it takes to make it at Anfield and considering the reported push for his capture, the German boss seems to have been given the green light by those in the know. Still, there are a lot of years before he can even be considered for a senior appearance, so this is one to watch for the future.
