Jurgen Klopp is winning the race to sign Deportivo wonderkid Pinchi, whose goals scoring antics for Deportivo’s B team has caught the eye of a host of Premier League teams, according to a report.
The Sun reports that Pinchi is set to be out of contract at the end of the season, and Liverpool are the front-runners to sign the 22-year-old.
It is said they will get him for a small compensation fee in the summer.
The Spaniard’s natural goal scoring ability, and electric pace are said to have caught the eyes of both Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino, with the Sun claiming United think he could challenge for a place in the first team.
However, it looks like Jurgen Klopp is set to add the attacker to his ranks.
Pinchi would add to an already stacked Reds forward line, that has been one of the League’s best this season, scoring the second most goals in the Premier League with 59.
Football Insider verdict:
Although he is relatively unknown, Pinchi is an exciting talent. Jurgen Klopp has a talent for finding young talent, and turning them into world beaters, as evidenced from his time at Borussia Dortmund. Pinchi would team up with the already electrifying Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, to create an intimidating front-four, should Klopp finalise the deal. His pace and goal threat could make him succesful in the Premier League, should Pinchi be able to adapt to the physical nature here in England. The fact that he is out of contract also means that only a small fee would be needed, as compensation to Deportivo, so this could turn out to be a nice piece of business from Klopp.
