Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to recall midfield star Jordan Henderson to the starting XI against Newcastle after being handed a major fitness boost, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo claim on their website that the Reds boss could have a fully fit squad ahead of the Magpies’ visit to Anfield on Saturday, with all of his senior stars either in full working order or having recently recovered from their various ailments.
Henderson, 27, has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season, including 18 Premier League outings, but was left on the bench as an unused substitute in his side’s 4-1 thrashing of West Ham last weekend, having picked up a minor blow.
As well as the former Sunderland man, Klopp is also said to have former Newcastle star Georginio Wijnaldum, striker Danny Ings and youngster Ben Woodburn available for the clash on Tyneside after the trio missed the win against the Hammers due to a virus.
Meanwhile Nathaniel Clyne, who has been out of action for the entirety of the season as a result of a back injury which required surgery, is closing in on his return to the first team as he completed the full 90 minutes in a reserve clash earlier in the week, and could be in contention to take on the Magpies.
