Seven of those strikes have come during 23 Serie A games with his side currently sitting ninth in the table.

The Mail also report that Inter Milan, West Brom, Everton and Crystal Palace have watched Schick in action.

Schick has scored one goal on the international scene as teams are set to battle it out for his signature.

Football Insider verdict:

Spurs should not consider making a move for the 21-year-old because he is not yet proven on the big stage. Seven goals in Serie A is something not worth boasting about but if Pochettino wants to be serious about mounting a Premier League title challenge then he should make a move for much better players. The first place to look should be in the PL where there are a number of proven goalscorers. Even Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe would more than likely do a better job and have more of an impact that Schick. There is no doubt that Pochettino needs to add quality and depth to his side because the London-based club are over-reliant on the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

In other Tottenham transfer news, Spurs have won the race to sign this 32-goal striker who has taken the league by storm.
