Revealed: Ben White set to remain at Leeds amid new talks
Ben White and the Leeds United loan stars are set to remain until the Championship season is completed amid new Premier League and EFL talks, Football Insider understands.
United director of football Victor Orta spoke with optimism in a recent interview about the five-man group staying beyond their deals expiring at the end of June.
Fifa’s working group on Covid-19 has recommended a set of emergency measures that would include a restriction on player movement until leagues are completed.
Recent discussions have taken place about adopting these guidelines in England, citing the global pandemic as a ‘force majeure’ — an unforeseen situation that prevents contracts from being fulfilled.
There is concern among clubs about the legal situation if players refuse to extend their contracts, but growing hope a solution can be found at the next EFL and Premier League summits.
They would have major ramifications for the Championship promotion race.

Division leaders Leeds have five loan players on their books – defender White, goalkeeper Illan Meslier and star attacker trio Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Jean-Kevin Augustin.
Of the quintet, there is most concern among United fans about White, whose parent club Brighton have revealed they are looking forward to welcoming him back to their squad later in the summer.
White has made a huge impact this campaign, in which he has remarkably started all 37 of their Championship matches.
He has made only two appearances for Brighton, but has a contract with the Premier League outfit that runs until 2022.
In other Leeds United news, the club are well placed to sign Premier League centre-forward for bargain fee after £19million January deal agreed.
