Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers wants to make three new senior signings this summer to improve his squad, Football Insider sources understand.

Rodgers has targeted three positions as key areas of his squad that need reinforcing ahead of next season and is keen to line up early summer deals.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Rodgers wants to bring in a new right-back, a right-sided winger and a striker as he continues his rebuilding at Parkhead and builds a side capable of challenging in Europe as well as continuing to dominate domestically.

Rodgers has targeted the three positions as key areas of his squad that need reinforcing ahead of next season.

A new No.9 forward is also on Rodgers' wishlist with doubts continuing to surround the long-term future Moussa Dembele, amid reported interest from clubs in the Premier League, while Leigh Griffiths has been in and out of the side this season.

Rodgers is also aiming to sign a left-footed right winger for next season with Patrick Roberts due to return to Manchester City at the end of this campaign after two loans spells in Glasgow.

Rodgers and his scouting team are now identifying targets for these three positions and Rodgers will be keen to get business done early with Celtic again set to have an early start for next season with their Champions League qualifiers starting in July.
