Celtic have made an approach to sign Akmat Grozny left-back Milad Mohammadi, Football Insider understands.

The Scottish champions face competition from Fulham and Bristol City for the signature of the Iran wide defender.

A Hoops source has told Football Insider that the club have registered their interest in Mohammadi, who is available on a free transfer this summer.

This comes after Celtic weighed up moves for the Russian Premier League ace on the past two transfer windows.

The 25-year-old, who played in last summer's World Cup, is keen on a move to the UK and joining Celtic.
