Conor Gallagher is currently happy at Chelsea as Tottenham plan a January swoop for his services, sources have told Football Insider.

The Lilywhites, alongside West Ham, are long-term admirers of Gallagher - and he was thought to be headed towards an exit in the main window before his path was blocked.

However, the England international is currently happy in west London and is open to remaining with the Blues.

He has been a regular for Chelsea and the Three Lions recently amid a backdrop of injuries at Stamford Bridge.

Gallagher has started in each of their five fixtures in the 2023-24 campaign – and even captained the Blues against Wimbledon in the League Cup.

The nine-cap star is also now a regular in the England squad ahead of next year’s European Championships in Germany.

He will have just 18 months left to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge in January, with his Chelsea contract not expiring until June 2025.

And it is believed that Chelsea would consider parting with the ex-Crystal Palace loanee if the right offer arrives.

Any sale of Gallagher would be recorded as pure profit for Financial Fair Play reasons as the player is a product of the club’s academy.

The 23-year-old will be hoping to win over Pochettino and earn a new deal at his boyhood club - despite the signings of Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo and Lesley Ugochukwu in the summer window.

He currently earns a reported wage of £50,000-a-week at Chelsea.
