Revealed: Joao Felix heads out of Chelsea for good

Joao Felix is heading out of Chelsea for good this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t want to keep Felix in his side for next season and this site has learned that the Blues are also unwilling to meet Atletico Madrid’s demand of nearly £69million to make his Stamford Bridge switch permanent.

Pochettino is believed to have other targets in mind that the club believed the money would be better spent on.

The 23-year-old joined the London club from Atletico in January on a loan deal that runs until the end of June.

Despite being sent off in his first game for the Blues, the attacker has gone on to score four goals in 16 Premier League appearances.

Chelsea confirmed that Pochettino will be taking over as head coach at Stamford Bridge from 1 July on a two-year contract that includes the option of a further 12 months.

The new manager has been working on identifying targets for the upcoming window as he attempts to put his own stamp on a Chelsea side that have already spent massive money on new players.

Yesterday (31 May), this site revealed that Pochettino’s first player sale as manager could be Ruben Loftus-Cheek as AC Milan push for his signature.
