Revealed: Liverpool agree terms of £8m+ new deal
Liverpool have agreed a new deal with Neco Williams worth more than £8million in total.
The Merseyside giants announced earlier this week that the right-back, 18, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract.
A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Williams' second professional deal is worth in excess of £30,000-a-week.
The sum of the agreement, which runs until the summer of 2025, is more than £8m as is supplemented by top-up bonuses.
Liverpool have handed Williams such lucrative terms on the back of an impressive campaign in which he followed up his senior debut last October with 10 more first-team appearances.
Jurgen Klopp has big plans for the defender and is ready to hand him even more game time next season as part of a carefully formulated development plan.
Williams, who primarily plays on the right flank but can also slot in at left-back as he did against Brighton last month, signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in January of last year.
Now 19, he he has been rewarded for a breakthrough campaign in which he made 11 appearances in all competitions as Liverpool clinched the Premier League title with a whopping 99 point haul.
Williams featured in six of the club's final nine games of the season - one more than the minimum requirement of five matches needed to qualify for a Premier League winners' medal.
The new contract follows new deals for fellow rising stars Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott.
