Revealed: Major Harry Kane update after 'jaw-dropping' Tottenham twist - sources
Tottenham will reject Bayern Munich’s second Harry Kane offer and resist all bids for him this summer.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday (8 July) that Spurs have offered their star man a “jaw-dropping” new contract as they look to tie him down beyond his current 2024 expiry.
But Kane has no plans to sign it before the window shuts with a drawn-out stalemate now on the cards.
The England skipper is encouraged by Bayern’s desire to sign him and is believed to be keen to join them in the coming weeks.
Tottenham have offered Kane a huge salary rise that would, according to sources, not only significantly improve his current £200,000-a-week wages but make him one of the Premier League’s top earners.
However, Kane has no plans to sign a contract extension during the summer window and will instead play a waiting game over his future.
He is aware of strong interest from Bayern Munich, who last week bid an initial £60million, and would be able to sign a pre-contract with them in January.
Tottenham have privately made it clear that Kane is not for sale and they will not listen to any offers for the striker.
The talismanic striker notched 30 goals and three assists in 38 Premier League games during the 2022-23 campaign – a tally bettered only by Man City’s Erling Haaland.
Kane still has one year remaining on his current Spurs deal and could leave on a free transfer next season if a new contract is not agreed.
