Chelsea are in no rush to sell Conor Gallagher amid interest from Tottenham and West Ham, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (12 August) that Spurs and the Hammers are ready to move for the 23-year-old in the final weeks of the window.

However, Christopher Nkunku's recent crushing injury blow could complicate a potential move for the England international.

Despite imminent moves for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, it is believed Mauricio Pochettino feels his squad is still too thin and is ready to give regular game time to Gallagher in the coming weeks.

A well-placed source has also told Football Insider that the midfielder himself is keen to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place this season.

Champions League newcomers Newcastle had previously been keen on a deal for the 23-year-old – but it is believed Spurs and West Ham are now the only clubs in the running for his signature.

The interest comes as Chelsea close in on the British-record signing of Brighton star Moises Caicedo despite late competition from Liverpool.

Speaking during pre-season (as per the London Evening Standard, 26 July), Pochettino insisted Gallagher is in his plans for the upcoming campaign.

He made 45 appearances acrosss all competitions in the 2022-23 season – scoring three and assisting one.

His contract at Chelsea runs until June 2025.
