Revealed: Sheffield United set sights on signing Kilmarnock sensation Bobby Wales

Sheffield United are plotting a move for Kilmarnock sensation Bobby Wales, sources have told Football Insider.

The centre-forward, 17, is on the cusp of breaking into the Killie first-team after impressing for the club’s Under-18s as well as Scotland Under-18s.

Sheffield United scouts have been keeping tabs on Wales after being alerted to his talent and they see him as a potential star in the making.

Wales is under contract at Kilmarnock until 2024, but they are bracing themselves for offers for one of their prize assets.

Wales has scored eight goals in 12 games for Kilmarnock’s youth sides and he is highly regarded within the corridors of power at Rugby Park.

He has also won five caps for Scotland at Under-17 level.

Speaking to the official club site in April 2021, Wales spoke of his desire to keep proving people wrong as he continued to rise through the ranks at Killie.

He described himself as a “fast, skilful, attacker” while admitting he was enjoying his time at the club.

Kilmarnock have suffered a poor start to the 2022-23 Premiership season as they sit 10th in the table after winning two of their opening nine games.

They are next in action against Hearts on Sunday (9 October).

The Blades currently sit top of the Championship after a blistering start to their own campaign.

They next face Stoke City on Saturday (8 October).

In other news, sources have told Football Insider that Pedro Martins has agreed to be the new Hull City manager.
