Borussia Dortmund defender Soumaila Coulibaly will undergo a Burnley medical on Monday before completing a loan move, sources have told Football Insider.

Burnley have agreed a deal for the centre-back with Dortmund for a loan with an option to buy.

Coulibaly, 19, is highly regarded at Dortmund and made two first-team appearances for the German club last season in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

Clarets boss Vincent Kompany is a big admirer of Coulibaly and sees him as a key addition to his squad for next season.

Coulibaly is set to become Burnley’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Jordan Beyer Dara O'Shea, and goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

The centre-back's current contract at the Bundesliga club runs until 2026 after joining from Paris Saint-Germain's youth academy in 2021.

Coulibaly made two appearances for Dortmund's first team last season and featured 16 times for their second team.

The 20-year-old had an impressive season at Sunderland last year following on from a tough stint at Rangers in the previous campaign where he struggled to make his mark on the Scottish giants.

Man City

The winger is now expected to be the subject of widespread interest across the Premier League and Europe this summer.

Diallo's Man United contract runs until 2025 and has the option of a 12-month extension.
