Erik Lamela may have played his last game for Tottenham after his latest injury blow, Football Insider understands.

The Argentine attacking midfielder faces an uncertain future after slipping down the pecking order in recent months following the latest in a series of injuries that have plagued his Spurs career.

A club source has told Football Insider that Mauricio Pochettino is willing to listen to offers for his countryman this summer in what would bring his six-year association with the north Londoners to an end.

Lamela joined from Roma for a then club-record fee of £30million in 2013 and has made 185 appearances, forming a strong bond with supporters who greatly admire his tenacity and aggression.

But the 27-year-old has been severely disrupted by injury in recent years and his latest problem has kept him out since early March.

Spurs announced on their official Twitter feed today that Lamela will miss this weekend’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth as he continues rehabilitation work.

There are major doubts as to whether Lamela’s body can withstand the rigours of playing regularly for a top-level club after undergoing double hip surgery two years ago.

He became this season impressively with six goals by early November but his form has subsequently tailed off and 18 of his 31 appearances this campaign have come as a substitute.

Spurs are set to overhaul their squad this summer irrespective of whether they end what would be a remarkable season by triumphing in the Champions League.

In other Spurs news, it can be REVEALED the club have secured a stunning multiple-million pound windfall heading straight to the transfer kitty.
