Leeds are determined to keep hold of Jack Clarke ahead of Thursday’s transfer window deadline and will snub Tottenham’s latest offer to buy and loan him back to the club, Football Insider understands.
Spurs are leading the chase ahead of a host of other Premier League clubs for highly-rated attacker Clarke as they look to win the race for one of the most exciting prospects in the country.
Spurs have proposed a new offer to sign Clarke this month and then loaning him back to Leeds until the end of the season in a similar deal they did when they brought Dele Alli from MK Dons in 2015.
However, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that Leeds will not entertain that offer and have sent the message to Spurs that they are determined to ensure Clarke stays at Elland Road.
Clarke has been earning rave reviews for Leeds since making his first-team debut in October, scoring two goals in 15 appearances for the Whites.
Leeds want Clarke to stay as they look to maintain their push for promotion back to the Premier League with the teenager seen as a key member of Marcelo Bielsa’s starting XI.
In other Leeds United transfer news, it can be revealed a huge bid has just been tabled for an Elland Road first-team star.
