Richarlison faces extended spell out of Tottenham XI - Hutton
Alan Hutton has claimed Richarlison will “have to wait” for his first competitive start for Tottenham after Dejan Kulusevski made an impressive start to the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back suggested Richarlison, 25, will have to use cameo appearances to “prove his worth” to Antonio Conte.
Conte played Kulusevski, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane as his front three for their Premier League opener against Southampton on Saturday (6 August).
Kulusevski scored and provided an assist in the Lilywhites’ 4-1 win over the Saints.
Richarlison, who joined Spurs from Everton this summer, was suspended for the clash.
Hutton suspects it will be difficult for the Brazilian to force into the starting XI.

“I’m really excited to see what Tottenham can do this season,” he told Football Insider.
“I think they’ve had a great start, it’s been a good pre-season they’ve had.
“They’ve started really well, even looking at the scoresheet at the weekend Son and Kane weren’t even on it, so they’ve got goals coming from other areas.
“Kulsevski came in last season so he’s already in to Antonio Conte’s ways, he knows how to play the system. Kulusevksi is a talented young player, if he sticks to that form I think Richarlison is going to have to wait.
“I think it’s going to be difficult and he’s going to have to prove his worth by coming on as a sub. I think at the moment that’s the strongest front three for Tottenham.“
