'Ridiculous' - Sky Sports pundit compares Leeds and Aston Villa start to season

Leeds United and Aston Villa appear to be worlds apart when you look at their differing starts to the 2017/18 Championship season.
Thomas Christiansen’s Whites side are perched top of the table without having to suffer a single defeat while Steve Bruce is facing the pressure of losing his job at Villa Park after just winning one of his first seven games.
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has suggested that while Aston Villa have a stronger squad than Leeds and most other clubs in the Championship, the major difference between them so far this season is solely down to their self belief.
The Villains are fighting desperately to return back to the Premier League after suffering relegation over a year ago and owner Dr Tony Xia has bankrolled a major overhaul of the squad – which according to Prutton is now “ridiculous” in strength compared to the rest of the second-tier.
Leeds have also had a major facelift, and although there’s happened in the space of just a few months over the summer months, it seems to have worked out well judging by the early results this term.

Former Whites midfielder Prutton still expects Bruce to turn things around at Villa Park and at the same time doesn’t expect his old club to run away with it at the top of the table.
“The squad he [Bruce] has at his disposal is ridiculous for the Championship, he just can’t quite knit them together. It doesn’t strike you as an ego-driven team at all, just a team that should be very capable at this level,” said Prutton, as quoted on the Sky Sports website.
“It’s incredible to think that Villa go into this game below Barnsley in the table. They’re in marked contrast to the confidence that a side like Leeds will be feeling at the moment.
“It’s still early days, but there are a lot of teams that can finish in the top six, and there are a lot of teams for them to battle their way through. But they should still be looking for promotion.”
