Rio Ferdinand has stated that Arsenal were defending “like a bunch of strangers” during their FA Cup win at Preston on Saturday evening.
The Premier League outfit went a goal down inside seven minutes against the Championship club when the Gunners backline failed to clear the ball which saw Callum Robinson slot home.
That poor defending continued as the home team could have doubled their advantage after a number of missed opportunities.
However, after the break the away team dominated with midfielder Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud scoring the goals to ensure that an upset was not on the cards.
Former Manchester United player Ferdinand had this to say about the Arsenal defensive display as posted on his personal Twitter account.

For the eighth away game, Wenger’s side have not been able to secure a clean sheet with the last coming against Burnley in the Premier League in early October.
Furthermore, they conceded three away goals in the first half at Bournemouth on Tuesday night but managed to rescue themselves and secure a 3-3 draw.
The north London club will be looking to make their mark on the FA Cup after winning the competition in 2014 and 2015.
During that period they beat the likes of Hull City and Aston Villa in the final as they will be hoping for another trip to Wembley this term.
