Patrick Roberts: This is what Celtic summer signing must work on improving
By Danny Wright
Patrick Roberts believes that Odsonne Edouard is a top addition to the Celtic side, but has admitted that the Frenchman must work on his English.
Edouard, 19, made his debut for the Hoops on Friday night as he scored in the 4-1 win over Hamilton at the SuperSeal Stadium as he filled in for the unfit Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths in attack.
The teenage forward signed for the Bhoys on loan from Tuesday’s Champions League opponents Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day to give Brendan Rodgers an extra layer of cover in the striker position.
Roberts, 20, is adamant that Edouard will work out to be a brilliant summer signing for the Glaswegians but he still thinks that his communication skills need improving.
“His English is going to need a bit of work but he is a top lad and a great player,” said Roberts, as quoted by the Scotsman. “He is a good addition to the side. He is strong, quick and, as you saw the other night, he can score goals, which is important. To have a third striker is important. He is a good lad and I am glad he got his goal the other night.”

Edouard spent last season on loan with Toulouse in the French Ligue 1 but only scored one goal in that time – which is a feat he has already matched with the Hoops.
Although he is on loan from PSG, the France youth international is available to play against his parent club on Tuesday night when they travel to Parkhead in the Champions League.
Bayern Munich and Anderlecht will face off against each other in the other Group B fixture.
