Robinson Exclusive: This may be Real Reason Kane has reached 'Next level' at Spurs

Paul Robinson claims that the arrivals of Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale at Tottenham this summer have taken Harry Kane’s game to the next level.

The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested that the 27-year-old is on a mission to prove that he is still the “main man” in north London.

Kane scored two and assisted another as Jose Mourinho’s side drew 3-3 with London rivals West Ham after a late collapse at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

His nine appearances this season have yielded a staggering 10 goals and eight assists, already nearly matching his 26 goal involvements in the entirety of the 2019/20 campaign.

Robinson believes that Kane’s electric start to the season is a result of the club’s business in the transfer window.

“Harry Kane was outstanding against West Ham,” he told Football Insider.

“He looks fit and strong this year and you are seeing the assists and goals.

“He has carried the burden at Tottenham for so long now.

“This summer with the likes of Vinicius and Bale coming in Harry has gone, “Look, I am the main man around here and you will have to do a lot to get past me.” He has put his shoulders back and has reached another level.

“He has been absolutely outstanding. The players coming in have incentivised him to go up another gear.”

Gareth Bale rejoined Spurs on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid last month, while Vinicius signed from Benfica on a loan with an option to buy agreement.
