Paul Robinson has tipped a race between Leeds United, Tottenham and Liverpool  to sign Brighton defender Ben White this summer.

The former Whites and Spurs goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 23-year-old will be “in demand” as a number of clubs look to sign an “elite level centre-back”.

White has impressed in his debut Premier League campaign, despite Brighton struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Leeds’ and Liverpool’s defensive injury problems have been well documented this season, with the latter signing two centre-halves on deadline day to help solve their crisis.

While Spurs are expected to enter the transfer market for a centre-half with Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Joe Rodon and Toby Alderweireld all failing to cement their place in Jose Mourinho’s side this season.

Robinson believes top-class centre-halves will be a high value commodity in the summer.

“A lot of clubs will be looking to sign an elite level centre-back in the summer,” he told Football Insider.

“I expect Ben White to be in demand from Leeds, Liverpool and Tottenham at the end of the season.

“You can see how hard that market when you look at Liverpool’s business in January. They waited until the end of the window and they got two players who they probably did not initially want to sign.

“If you are a top-class centre-half in this day and age, you are in high-demand.”
