Brendan Rodgers believes Celtic showed confidence to impose their style during the 1-1 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday night.

Northern Irishman Rodgers helped the Bhoys to a point in Germany in midweek, with the Glasgow giants securing a valuable point in their tough Champions League group game.

Celtic, who lost to Gladbach in the reverse fixture, dropped points at home to Manchester City and were thumped 7-0 by Barcelona in their opening group game.

But, the Scottish champions showed resilience during the draw against Gladbach, which pleased manager Rodgers.

Nonetheless, Celtic still remain bottom of Group C with two points from their four games, two behind Gladbach in third.

But, most importantly they are five points adrift of City in second and seven points off leaders Barcelona.

The Hoops take on the La Liga giants on November 23 at Celtic Park, with Rodgers side looking to secure an unlikely victory in front of their home support.

But, now Rodgers must turn his attention to domestic matters, as Celtic take on Inverness on Saturday afternoon, as they look to extend their nine-point gap at the top of the table.
