Rodriguez has done the 'worst thing' to Everton as amid BBC reveal today - Whelan
Everton need to get rid of James Rodriguez immediately after he jetted out to Qatar to secure an out-of-window transfer.
That’s according to former Leeds hitman Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest on Rodriguez.
BBC Sport reported today Rodriguez has travelled to a Qatari club for talks over a move away from Goodison Park.
The Colombian, who signed for Everton last summer, is yet to play this season.
Rafael Benitez even chose to name an eight-man bench against Aston Villa at the weekend despite the player’s supposed availability.
Whelan claims Rodriguez has done the worst possible thing to Everton and the fans of the club after a disappointing spell in England.

“A player who doesn’t want to be at the club is a player who needs to leave straight away,” Whelan told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“There was only ever going to be a certain amount of clubs who can afford his wages and it looks like they can get him off the wage bill.
“That can free up some funds for Rafael Benitez in January. It gets a player out of the club who doesn’t want to fight for the badge.
“That, to me, is more important than anything. It has been a disappointing stint for Rodriguez at Everton.
“It started really well and it could have been a lot better if his mind and attitude was in the right place.
“To leave a club high and dry is the worst possible thing you can do to a football club and the fans.
“So get him out as quick as possible and let him carry on his career while Everton look at players to replace him.”
