Ronald Koeman shares January plans after major Everton injury

Ronald Koeman has revealed that the need to delve into the January market may have grown following Yannick Bolasie’s injury.
The 27-year-old summer signing injured his knee during Sunday’s clash against Manchester United and has been ruled out of the rest of the campaign.
He has been a key part of the Toffees team this season, featuring in 16 matches in all competitions this season and his injury will come as a major blow for the team.
Koeman still has the options of Gerard Deulofeu, Kevin Mirallas and Aaron Lennon to step in for the DR Congo international, but he has shared that moves in January may now be more essential with Bolasie out.
“We need a big squad as it is a big month coming up with a lot of games and we need everyone at a good level,” said Koeman in his pre-Watford press conference, as quoted by Sky Sports. “Still we are looking for some good options (in the transfer window) and maybe the necessity now is a little bit more than before because we have lost Yannick for a long time.

“He is going to London for an opinion about his knee, what is the best thing to do and the kind of operation, and then maybe he will go somewhere else to get a second opinion.
“Normally I think the operation will be next week but it is a big disappointment for everyone: the player himself, his team-mates and the whole club because he is an important player.”
The injury to Bolasie has come at a bad time for Everton, which has seen the team win just one of their previous 10 matches.
The team have been left in eighth place in the league table and sit 10 points behind Manchester City in fourth.
The Toffees will be looking to improve on last season’s disappointments under Roberto Martinez, which saw an eleventh placed finish.
They will now be putting together a list of January target’s who they feel can enable them to move further away from mid-table and closer to the top.
