Rookie defender is shock starter for Tottenham clash v Manchester United - journalist

By Amir Mir

Axel Tuanzebe is a shock starter for Manchester United in their clash against Tottenham on Sunday afternoon at White Hart Lane, according to a reliable journalist.

Chief football writer for the Independent, Miguel Delaney reported on his personal Twitter account that the rookie defender will start the match, as will Wayne Rooney.

If Jose Mourinho has opted to play the right-sided defender then it will only be his second start for United in the Premier League.

Tuanzebe, 19, was a surprise selection when his team suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal during their last league fixture.

With such little experience, many will be shocked to see Tuanzebe take to the field once again in what is another big game for both sides.

After reaching the Europa League final on Thursday night, United will be looking to spoil the party for Spurs, who will be playing their final match at the Lane.

The Premier League title has already been wrapped up by Chelsea but Spurs will still want to claim all three points for their supporters.

Added to that, United are sitting five points outside of the top four and will want to claim that all-important Champions League place.

However, after reaching the Europa League final where they will play Ajax, winning that competition will send them straight into the Champions League.
