Russell Martin reveals what Naismith has told him following reports he is open to Rangers return
By Harvey Byrne
Norwich defender and Scotland international Russell Martin has revealed attacker Steven Naismith has told him he wants to see out his contract at the Canaries.
The Norfolk-based side are conducting mass changes this summer and have already told seven first teamers they will be allowed to leave this summer.
Now, Naismith is not part of that group, but he is one of the club’s highest earners and there have become doubts about his future at the club.
This has led to the Daily Express reporting that the 30-year-old would be open to a return to Rangers despite angering fans when departing in 2012.
But, close teammate Russell has since contradicted the claims and he told on Thursday afternoon, as covered by Pink Un journalist Paddy Davitt that Naismith has told him he wants to see out his contract with Norwich.

He has totalled 168 appearances for the two clubs, returning 34 goals and 17 assists.
This season the versatile attacker has maintained his status as a regular for the second tier club and he has managed to appear 29 times in the Championship, bringing a return of five goals and three assists.
In other Rangers news, Pedro Caixinha has shared his hopes that this midfielder can be with the club for pre-season.
