Ryan Bennett has tweeted an apology to die-hard Arsenal fan Piers Morgan after he was criticised for shoving Alexis Sanchez into a cameraman.
The Norwich defender’s slight push on Sanchez during Sunday afternoon’s 1-1 draw at Carrow Road was enough to send the Chilean tumbling into the path of a TV cameraman stationed behind the touchline.
Morgan, who began a new job as a regular television presenter with Good Morning Britain last week, vented his fury to his 4.69million Twitter followers.
That Norwich halfwit should be sent off. Bloody stupid, dangerous shove on Alexis. #NCFCvAFC

Morgan is always outspoken on Twitter, and is renowned for his regular verbal skirmishes with the likes of Lord Sugar, One Direction’s Niall Horan and Usain Bolt.
After making it clearly what he thought of 25-year-old Bennett – although the TV presenter did not appear to know who he was – the player responded with an apology and an emoticon showing a kiss.
The centre-back was also keen to clarify he hadn’t tried to deliberately injure Sanchez.
Morgan then tweeted back to Bennett in a similarly jokey manner and Bennett delivering a self-effacing response.
In a separate incident later in the game, Sanchez suffered a hamstring problem chasing a goal-scoring opportunity and was immediately substituted.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday morning, the early assessment from Arsenal’s medical staff is that the injury might not be as bad as initially feared.
Sanchez is due to undergo a scan on his right hamstring on Tuesday.
