Ryan Christie makes admission about reported McInnes link to Rangers

Aberdeen star Ryan Christie had admitted that he wants Derek McInnes to stay at Aberdeen despite the manager being strongly linked with moving to Rangers.
Sky Sports has previously reported that McInnes will be named as Pedro Caixinha’s successor at Ibrox this week and he remains the clear favourite with the bookmakers.
Christie, 22, has been signed twice by McInnes on loan from Celtic and has without doubt enjoyed the form of his career with the ex-Bristol City and St Johnstone boss.
Aberdeen have finished runners-up in the Scottish Premiership three times in a row and also won their first piece of silverware in 20 years with the Paisley-born manager at the helm, and Christie has admitted that he doesn’t want the good times to end.
“I’ve loved playing under him for nearly a full year now, I think it’s been absolutely brilliant. The gaffer’s done incredibly at Aberdeen over a number of years now, so it’s only natural when jobs appear that there going to be speculation with his name involved,” he said, speaking of McInnes’ link to Rangers, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“It’s happened before and he’s stayed so hopefully that’s going to be the case again.”
Christie has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring four goals and supplying seven assists and even though he clearly in amazing form for Aberdeen, he is still yet to impress Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
The winger is gearing up to potentially make his international debut for Scotland this week when the Tartan Army welcome the Netherlands to Pittodrie in a friendly.
He is joined by Rangers summer signing Ryan Jack, who caused controversy among the Aberdeen faithful when he left them to move to Ibrox in the summer.
