Rangers fans are up in arms at the news that Ryan Jack's appeal has been unsuccessful.

The player was sent off in Sunday's game against Aberdeen for a challenge on Stevie May.

He appeared to win the ball but caught the player too, and the Scottish FA confirmed on Thursday that the red card would be upheld.

It was his third red card for Rangers in just 19 appearances for Rangers although two previous ones have been rescinded after successful appeals.

It was third time lucky for the Scottish FA this time as they decided that the red card should stand and Jack will now miss three matches for Rangers.

Rangers fans were not happy, with one claiming that the SFA were "propping up incompetent referees" and another claiming it was "rank amateurism and a touch of anti rangers bias".

Rangers won both recent games over Aberdeen, coming out 3-0 winners at Ibrox before winning the return leg 2-1.

That's seen them leapfrog Aberdeen into second place in the Scottish Premiership, but they're going to have to stay there now without Jack.

And Rangers fans are not happy. Here is a selection of the best tweets from angry fans after the announcement:
