Sadio Mane: 'Big decision' expected over Liverpool star's future after confirmed news - pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Jurgen Klopp could make some “big decisions” regarding the futures of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino after signing a new contract at Liverpool.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland international insisted the German manager has proven he is “building for the future” by signing the likes of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.
Liverpool confirmed last week (28 April) that Klopp, 54, has signed a new deal that runs until the summer of 2026.
The trio’s current terms all expire next summer.
However, Hutton admitted Klopp may have one eye on the future now he has signed a new deal.

Asked if he thought Klopp’s new deal could have an impact in player contract talks, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “You would hope so.
“Klopp’s got so much out of them so far. He’s never let them down, the players have never let them down.
“But I think ultimately he’s there for the future and he’s building for the future. He’s bringing in some young players, the likes of Diaz, Jota, Carvalho, these types of guys.
“I don’t think he’s afraid to make those big decisions but ultimately, he’d like to have a very strong squad. He’d like these guys to sign new deals.
“It will be interesting to see how this plays out but he’s there for the long term. He’s there to build for the long term as well.”
Only four Liverpool players have featured more than Mane, 30 and Salah, 29, this season.
Meanwhile, Firmino has made 31 appearances, with injury limiting his availability.
