Sancho facing extended spell on sidelines after newspaper's Man United injury news - pundit
Jadon Sancho may face an extended spell out of the Man United team when Marcus Rashford returns from injury.
That is according to ex-Aston Villa and England attacker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Sancho’s indifferent start to his Old Trafford career.
The 21-year-old has started Man United’s last two Premier League games but has been shunted out to the left wing.
Mason Greenwood started on the right-hand side against Newcastle United at the weekend while Cristiano Ronaldo played as a lone striker.
Asked whether Sancho was being wasted on the left, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No, not really.
“Ronaldo starts up front, Greenwood starts in his second preferred position on the right. For me, those two players are ahead of Sancho in importance to Manchester United.

“Sancho has to fit in on the left. It is either the left or nothing. Greenwood is not great on the left. He’s better on the right, cutting in getting shots off like he did for the first goal against Newcastle.
“For me, it’s going to be Sancho on the left. He needs to start performing because Rashford is on his way back and he will walk straight back into that side on the left.
“Sancho is going to be playing a lot of football from the bench. He’s in competition with Rashford and Greenwood. At the moment, you’re putting Greenwood ahead of him.
“He needs to start putting performances in before Rashford comes back because he’ll be out of the team for sure.”
Rashford has not featured this term after having surgery on a shoulder injury over the summer.
The Manchester Evening News reported yesterday (September 14) he could return to action after the next international break in the middle of October.
