Sancho to soon have 'seat on the plane' amid 100% Man United reveal - pundit

Jadon Sancho has given the “perfect” response at Man United after being left out of the England squad, according to Kevin Campbell.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Arsenal and Everton striker insisted Sancho can still make the World Cup if he can become the “hot hand”.

The 22-year-old netted his third goal of the season as Man United beat Sheriff Tiraspol 2-0 in the Europa League last week (15 September).

It was the same day he was left out of the England squad for their upcoming Nations League games – their last fixtures before the World Cup in November.

Sancho told MUTV after the win over Sheriff, as relayed by utdreport on Twitter that making the squad for Qatar was “100 per cent” his aim and he will keep working hard.

“That’s all he can do,” Campbell told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.

“The fact of the matter is that Jadon Sancho is a quality player.

“Gareth Southgate knows what he can do but the problem is that he’s not done it consistently enough for Man United over a period, hence why he’s not been picked.

“It’s the perfect response. You’ve got to go out there, score and do the business. If he can keep doing that, I guarantee that Gareth Southgate will have him in his squad next time.

“It’s a World Cup year with the World Cup in a few months. If you’re the hot hand and you’re doing the business, that’s how you secure your seat on the plane.”

Sancho has only played once for England since the European Championships last summer (2021).

The London-born attacker has 23 caps and three goals for his country.
